Promoting Quality

NAESP Leadership Academy

Launched in 2019 in partnership with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), this initiative provides training and ongoing support to principals and school district early childhood leaders to promote best practices, including effective transitions for children ages three to eight.

The Academy has expanded to include partners from Head Start and Community Early Childhood programs. The year-long professional learning community is appropriate for early childhood leaders across settings to support and build community collaborations to improve transitions systemically.

To date, almost 40 individuals from across the state have completed the coursework, earning a certification as a PreK-3 Credentialed Leader from NAESP.
